Stage design

Starting with the »Violator« tour 1989, Corbijn made film projections and stage design for Depeche Mode.

The »Devotional« (1993) stage design is probably his most unusual. The stage is divided into two levels. Dave (the singer) is on the lowest level next to the audience. He is supportet by film projections behind him. One level above are the other band members who play instruments. Behind them are big curtains with some more projections.

The »Exciter« (2001) is less unusual. Every band member is on one level. Behind them is one big screen with projections. This setup allows Corbijn to focus on the great atmosphere in the stadium rather that focusing solely on the band like »Devotional«.
